CONGRATS! You are finally in the right place!
Eating healthy isn’t clean cut.
We don’t need a temporary crash diet…we need a sustainable set of changes. Magazines, websites and blogs often lead us to believe that with enough effort, culinary skill, and abandonment of our taste buds we can “melt weight”, “tone and tighten”, and enjoy “high-sugar health foods” all in only 1 week! If only these sources weren’t fueled by million-dollar marketing campaigns to sell you a series of products…
I am Shannon Sullivan of Whole Food Love and it’s my passion to help people take back control of their health. I thoroughly enjoy teaching people the tools to integrate and streamline all aspects of their lives toward health. Ultimately this healing of both body and mind brings you to the right balance and transforms your life. I have found that 2 elements are necessary for the success;
1) support
2) simplicity/consistency
The Whole Food Love group programs offer an interactive support community to bounce ideas, share difficulties, and help celebrate successes. The meals are healthy and SIMPLE. While diets promote quick-fixes and fleeting weight-loss, Whole Food Love group programs empower you to form new habits and provide permanent results. At Whole Food Love, we take care of the planning and research, to make our group programs as simple and maintainable as possible. Why not try setting yourself up for success.
For those looking to make sustainable changes to their diet and health, we recommend the group programs.
On the other hand, if you have serious health issues you might benefit from a more individualized and guided approach to healing. I offer private coaching sessions that will address your specific needs on a one-on-one basis and give you a bio-individualized roadmap to healing.
My “Whole” Story
I was born and raised in Chicago, attended college just outside Philadelphia and now live on the Island of Coronado just across the bay from San Diego. I’ve always valued family and am lucky enough to live within walking distance of my 2 sisters. I love healthy competition, athletics, and getting back to basics with my nutrition.
I grew up in awe of my Grandmother who knew home remedies for just about everything (Did you know that a handkerchief soaked with vinegar relieves even the worst sunburn? Or that Apple cider vinegar can help ward off a cold?). My grandmother was thrifty and I learned a lot about what could be substituted for “drug-store remedies.” This began my passion for healing with whole foods…
As I progressed through school, a few other passions took over, going to Villanova University, playing Division I lacrosse, and enduring those grueling tax busy seasons as a CPA. While I was an NCAA athlete, I learned a lot about using the right kind of food as fuel and was fascinated how this directly translated to physical results. After graduation, I entered the world of Corporate America and the fuel was very different on the average 12 hour day…coffee, fast food, vending machine lunches and decadent client dinners. Through the years I saw the health of my co-workers deteriorate (rapid aging, stomach ulcers, acid reflux, weight-gain). When I started experiencing my own digestive issues, the Northwestern University gastroenterologist told me the pain was caused by diet and stress. I made some big changes, healed myself, and started a career in integrative nutrition focusing on making lifestyle changes to manage and heal chronic diseases.
This passion has led me to learn as much as I can, from the top in the field of what is now referred to as “Modern Nutrition.” I’ve studied under Harvard University, Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, Harvard School of Public Health, Yale Prevention Research Center, and the Weston A. Price Foundation. I’ve also attended lectures from the world-reknown authority of raw-food nutrition and leader in holistic digestion. In my (continued) comprehensive curriculum, I learned over 150 dietary theories and the successes and fails of every diet out there. I’m eager to put Americans back in control of their health, and learn to prevent the risk of those diseases that are our highest killers (heart disease, cancer, and diabetes). Together, we can determine how to strike the right balance in your life.
